I’m really excited to share this latest publication in Studies in Science Education with the world: it’s a systematic literature review on embodied cognition in STEM education – conducted by my PhD student Fridtjof Gjengset. The starting point for the review is that embodied cognition has become very popular in STEM education these days, but how do educators and researchers actually think about the role of the body in STEM? Why do they draw on embodied perspectives, what do they focus on, and, importantly, what are the outcomes?

The review maps almost 200 empirical papers over the span of a decade and sheds light on a fragmented field with a lot of potential to improve teaching and learning in STEM. Give the paper a go, and let us know what you think 🤓
